Steel rulers from the Japanese manufacturer Shinwa are produced mainly in Japan and are the rulers most widely used by Japanese manufacturers. The highly legible scales and special finish for reduced reflections make them a first choice. Shinwa rulers are made of stainless steel to Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS B7516 Grade 1). The length tolerance of the rulers is measured between two arbitrary scale marks at a temperature of 20 °C.
On the reverse side they give you a millimetre-inch conversion table but not a tap drill table.
A special feature is the raised edge on the right-hand end that makes picking them up from a flat surface a doddle. Pressing down on the raised edge lifts the 15 and 30 cm rulers all the way up; the 60 cm and 100 cm rulers lift up only half-way.
These Shinwa steel rulers also feature easy to read extra-large numerals and even larger numerals picked out in red for multiples of 50 (100) (for scale lengths up to 150 (1000) mm.
Available in 150mm, 300mm, 600mm and 1000mm lengths.
